Description

English: The Perim Hotel, the only hotel Perim ever had during the British period, was initially called the Grand Hotel when it was built before 1888, then The Oriental, and finally The Perim Hotel. Perim's cricket grounds were next to the hotel and most of the people shown on this picture from circa 1910 are probably cricket players. Accommodations tended to be very basic on Perim Island, where all activities centered on coaling operations until 1936. The hotel belonged to the Perim Coal Company. Contemporary real photo postcard.
